If UFO'S exist, why don't they ever crash? They must have some great extraterrestrial engineers. Here on earth we have the best engineers and cars break down, airplanes crash, rockets explode after takeoff and every machine ever invented breaks down.

Chicago sighting.
by Woodsman ini thought it was interesting that the pilots who saw a hovering craft were dismissed as having seen a strange cloud.. this is remarkably similiar to the bibles phraseology of the israelites seeing jehovah in a "thick cloud" etc.. also these pilots work in the clouds day in and day out.
i think they know the difference between a cloud and an object.
especially since the reports said that when the object left it punched a hole in the cloud cover above.. http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/automotive/columnists/chi-0701010141jan01,0,5874175.column.

Did feel that you were at a mental breaking point at the point of leaving?
by jambon1 inprior to you leaving the org did you come to the conclusion that if you didnt actually take the step and leave, that you would run into serious mental difficulty.. i really feel that for 5 years proir to my finally leaving i was quite impaired mentally by the teachings and practices of the org.
it was coming to a head though when i finally announced that i was leaving.
i really felt that i was under intense mental pressure and that if i didnt get out then i may end up doing something serious.

What I meant by ''leaving" was quitting the religion not leaving this earth by my own hands. I think the pressure to do more is exhausting.I always thought that the load was supposed to be light AND not burdensome as the WTS make it.Let those who can carry that load remain in and leave the rest of us alone.

I'm at that point right now.Every Sunday is pure torture by attending the meeting .It's also torture having my mom call to see why I wasn't there. I try to miss as many meetings as I can because my brain swells from all the bull crap. They say you should always be true to yourself and that is the mental breaking point and that by sitting on the fence is exhausting.Leaving would relieve all the stress but having family members not being part of my life would take a bigger toll on me. One day, I will have to decide which suffering is easier.

Why is the Faithful and Discreet Slave thanked in every prayer?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inevery prayer at any meal, congregation meeting, and assemblyhas the fds being thanked for the spiritual food that they provide.jesus gave us an example on who to pray to and what to say.the society or any human were not included and was not ever mentioned by jesus.the society has always included themselves in prayers.
.
do you think that by including themselves in every prayer, they intentionally try to inculcate that into each brain,so that their powers are never questioned?.

Congregation member lists: do they still use them? Current Dubz only!
by MinisterAmos infor some reason (read they are afraid that exiting jws will use them to "stumble" other bros.) my new congo will not issue the normal member list with names, addies, numbers and congo appointments; the same list that everyone uses to call their jw buddies over for a booze party.. i was switched to this new congo two or so years ago and since have heard of two other congos that have stopped distributing lists.
since i have only inquired of two congoes, i ass-ume that the distribution of "friends" personal info is now forbidden?.
please comment all you current members/faders.

RULES & REGULATIONS
It depends on the cong. I've been to congs where it's one of the first things they give you, others don't do it and in others you have to be "approved" (reg service, meeting attendance/answering etc) before you'll ever see one.
At my congregation, anyone who is approved and attends the book study receives a congregation member list.If you are "weak" in any way, they will not give you one.Since I am considered "inactive",they do not invite me to any weddings or social events.I just found out that my congregation is renting out a clubhouse for a gathering and that I wasn't invited. That's all fine with me.Wait until someone asks me for a favor next time! They are the modern day PHARISEES.

Remember congregation summer picnics? (and other ramblings)
by WingCommander ina thread on the last page made me remember something from my early childhood.
remember congregation picnics and other outings?
i remember when i was little, probably only 4 - 5 years old; there was a huge congregation picnic at a park with food, games, etc.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Hello WingCommander
Our congregation picnics were put to an end in the mid-eighties.Since there were too many teenage girls who would dress in tight shorts and inappropriate clothing, all the young boys would be chasing them around and sometimes they would walk away from the picnic area and not be seen for sometime.Also,"worldly" people would show up and that was a problem with the elders.So,they decided since they couldn't control it,they would put an end to it.{ YOU KNOW THEY NEED TO BE IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING OR ELSE }
My cousins who were not Witnesses were invited to one of the picnics by my uncle who was an elder.Well, another elder found out that they weren't Witnesses went around asking everyone who invited them.My uncle didn't fess up so all the elders decided since "worldly" people would show up ,they would put an end to them.
